Step 3. Centering The Camera Lens.

Using the "little white block" touch the left side of your camera lens and let the block fall straight down to the horizontal arm.  Note where the block touches the ruled lines.

Now do the same thing on the right side of the lens.  Keep shifting the camera on the cork pad until the same reading is on both the right and left side of the lens.

You can also use the little white block to check to see that you remain perfectly parallel to the dark black line on the front of the horizontal arm.  Note:  If your camera's tripod hole is inline with the lens then this is the only step you need to do to check for center - since you will automatically be centered if you are parallel to the black line.

Continue the above procedures until you are certain your camera is very close to perfectly centered.

Now Very Carefully remove the camera block from the horizontal arm and firmly tighten the camera mounting bolt.

Next, if at all possible, make marks somewhere on the rubber pad, or elsewhere, that will enable you to easily reposition the camera into this same mounting position each time you want to mount the camera to the block.
